Goblin Stompers

I can't talk about what I'm working on these days due to a hefty Non-Disclosure Agreement (which oddly enough isn't bothered with me disclosing the fact that such Non-Disclosure exists) but I can throw a random side project/contest thing your way. If you play Dungeons & Dragons, then you might know about a Magic Shoe known as Goblin Stompers. They totally suck as far as magical Items go, but when this Dungeons & Dragons "Design your Own Shoe" contest showed up, they were the first things that came to mind.
Photobucket
Check out the link to look through the "virtual" shoe's design. I'm particularly proud of the inside and bottom of the shoe. Not thrilled with the actual art here, but man, having crushed goblins on the bottom of your feet can't help but bring a smile to my face. Yeah, I'm a dork.

Click HERE to see the Goblin Stompers.

Oh and there's voting starting July 15th. I won't tell you to vote for my shoes but I do at least encourage you to vote. There's some fun designs there and hell, I'd actually wear a few of those.
(Because, as previously established, I'm a big dork.)

PS: Super Secret Project has me distracted so the Sleepaway Camp article and the "Man, I really should get around to reviewing all those Michael Jackson films" article I was hoping to do will be, as usual, a little off schedule. Trust me, when it all goes public next month or so you'll forgive me for being a corporate whore. Maybe.

I would totally wear those goblin stomper shoes!

And there is nothing wrong with being a corporate whore - if anyone mocks you, just stuff money in your ears. :o)

Awesome stuff. I'll be voting for yours on the 15th, as they're my favourite there. (Second place going to the armoured +5 Battle Boots.)

I am disappointed at how many entries there are that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter.

One has a cat! One is nothing but green velvet! One is the Pathfinder RPG characters (and is just them pasted on the side of the shoe, so it's both off-topic and kinda ugly)!

But anyways, signed up, ready to vote when they let me. I hope to be able to buy those Stompers some day.

Oh man. The +5 Battle Boots would be my vote if I wasn't such a crazy ego maniac required to vote for myself. I think any of the designs that have a "Meta" quality really deserve to win. And don't get me started on bad designs. Some of them are amaaaaaaaaaazing. And by amaaaaaaaaaaaazing I mean terrible. (But Amazing).
It's also interesting to see which designs won the Magic the Gathering contest. They're all, with the exception of 5th place, pretty conservative and very, very dark.
Still, fun stuff.

Duuuuude! This is probably the conspiracy theorist in me talking, but is this Super Sekrit Project the same one that Spoony's working on? Because if you two are collaborating, it'll be the most awesome thing ever!

By the way, those shoes are super cool. Definitely getting some for me and my little sister when they win :)

love from Devon, England!

Hey Jared, After doing those two articles you mentioned, might you also do an article on that Bogleech.com guy? You did a nucklavee pic for his art submission thingie (And you should totally do one for that one he's doing now based upon that snail parasite that makes their eyestalks look like caterpillars), so why not do an article about the insanity that is Johnithan Wojcik. He has a link to your webpage, so why not return the favor? I at least would love to see you do some Mortasheen fanart like, say, creating your own new monsters for the series. Maybe Mr. Wojcik might even make them canon!

Also, could you try and use any connections you might have to try and help Mr. Wojcik get a job. For, while you're living the dream of getting paid for your creativity, poor Mr. Wojcik resides unemployed and friendless (Of course, you've mentioned that you have the latter problem as well yourself, but that's not what I'm talking about). So do you think you could help him live the dream which you yourself have found, maybe setting him up with any of the important people you know?

#1, to Lexi: You're a crazy conspiracy person. I actually haven't heard from Spoony in a while now...but man, that guy's got problems (literally, like with both his site and his camera at the moment.) Godspeed, Spoonyone, Godspeed.

#2 for Tbok:
The funny thing is that I would dare say me and Mr. Wojcik are digital friends. He was a fan of my stuff and I actually wrote him to compliment his Anicopters stuff and, well, we both pretty much said "Wait, you're THAT guy to each other at the same time." Fun stuff. While I don't think I could do an article on another person's website (the exception being that amazing nightmarish JFK smut Comic), I definitely hope to do some more tribute art for the guy in the near future. Love the whole Mortasheen monster universe.

As for getting someone else a job, I'm totally nowhere near that place at the moment. I've always been able to, at least to some degree, get paid to do the artsy voodoo that I do (There's a reason the Opera section exists on the site...it's a Niche market that doesn't get enough "freak love" as it were). The difference now is I'm being paid professionally. Which is awesome but, well, the new guy isn't allowed to bring friends with him, at least not on his first day of work.

Man, I hope this all makes sense...
I can say that I didn't get a permanent staff position anywhere. Just one healthy commission that I'm kind of proud of that might kick open some new opportunities.

OH and:
#3: I woke up today with 2 emails from people trying to buy Goblin Stompers from me. It may very well be a good day.
